Things felt a bit run-down, but I was told the hotel is actively refurbishing the rooms. The basic room also had its own sofa bed with a dividing wall to create additional sleeping.

The combination of living and dining space with kitchenette along with two full baths, and a half-bath made it easy to share the space. The accommodation was a “two bedroom” suite, which is actually a standard room adjoining a king suite. We were travelling with two adults, two kids (tweens) and a senior. However, they work hard to keep the beach itself clean and graded with a tractor every morning.
The surf is rough and the destruction of the breakwater system has created a seaweed problem. About the beach: don’t plan on doing a lot of ocean swimming. These Bali beds are first-come-first-served for non-members, but we could reserve for the week. On the beach, we were served by Erbie our beach butler who catered drinks, towels and organised the Bali beds.
He assisted in clearing up an unfortunate room assignment (avoid the far side of building 18 if you are looking for peace and quiet). As Exotic members, our service was further enhanced by our concierge Kevin. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, these two were on the ball and ready to help with anything. We had an excellent team of butlers: Luiz and Gerardo. But what sets Generations apart from other Karisma properties we have experienced is the service. The food was consistently creative and well-prepared. Although there are only a few restaurants, they were all great. As it turns out, we got lucky! My impression is that this small property punches above its weight. This time we could not stay at the adults only Royale, so we opted for Generations. This trip brought us back to the El Dorado family of resorts after many years. We simply can't say enough about what a truly fantastic experience this resort provides!! We can't wait to come back!… Rosalba with our turndown service has such a fun way of posing our kids stuffed animals, they were thrilled! Visit every restaurant, and as members - go to the member's dinner & enjoy the ensuite dinner!! This was a first for us, and chef Arturo was incredible, and Cynthia and the waiter Mariano made it a seamless, incredible experience.
We had incredible butlers, Eddie & Josie, who helped ensure we had everything we needed! And speaking of, Andre with Prestige not only checked in each day, handled any and all requests, but even sent flowers - so thoughtful! Every single staff member at this resort truly seems interested in making sure you have the most relaxing and enjoyable vacation! We got to know David and Erbie at the bar, Alma the waitress at Chef Market every morning, and Daniel who made sure we had breakfast made to an allergy order for our son every morning we wanted it while looking at the amazing waves! Housekeeping is thoughtful and thorough. We traveled to Generations with a family of four, meeting grandparents, and had the most amazing family vacation! The resort is small enough to feel homey while having enough entertainment and activities for all - The activities directors, Axel with Alma and Claudia were fantastic!! Every day they had fun for all ages, but in particular within the first few days our kids were seeking them out and off busy for hours! We stayed in the 200 building in a swim up suite on the main pool, which had just enough private space but was close enough to easily head to the swim up bar.
